Temporary Research Assistant
Job Summary
The selected candidate will design and execute experiments related to medicinal plants tissue culture, histochemistry, microscopy, and greenhouse maintenance. Regular observation and data recording of ongoing experiments is the key responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities
List the primary job duties and responsibilities
- To help set up experiments on medicinal plants
- To collect plant materials for research from the greenhouse and field
- To prepare growth regulator stocks and use in plant tissue culture medium as per experimental requirement
- To take observations, interpret them and document
- To carry out statistical analysis of data compiled
- Carry out histochemistry and biochemical assays of experimental tissue
- Write manuscript drafts for publication
Qualifications
Minimum: List the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job and are necessary to be considered for the position.
- Education. MS, preferably plant biotechnology
- Minimum years of experience required (do not include a range of years): Good experimental knowledge with two years of plant biotechnology
- Specialized knowledge: Plant histochemistry, plant tissue culture, microscopy
- Skills: Biotechnology related
- Abilities: Collecting data and statistical processing, writing manuscripts
- Other characteristics such as personal characteristics: Team player and responsible
- Professional Certification(s): Published peer reviewed articles in biotech research
Preferred: State the qualifications that would be beneficial to have, but are not essential to the job.
