Strategic Management Lead - INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY
DIVISION: University Advancement
PRIMARY GOAL: To provide a positive image of the College through the use of multiple media sources. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of a long-range strategic communications and integrated marketing plan in accordance with the mission and goals of the institution. Help led to an increase in the number of donor prospects and an increase in private sector funding. Will coordinate stewardship efforts in tandem with the Fort Valley State University Foundation, Inc. Ensure effective marketing and communication of materials to internal and external constituents. Assist with other development personnel in creating the culture of annual giving. Increase contributions from the alumni and private sector by 20 percent and cultivate donor relations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide input from the institutional donor and marketing perspective to help form policies and formulate the strategic plans.
- Participate in concept and creative development of key Institutional Advancement materials to ensure consistency of message and adherence to the College's mission and goals
- Assists the Vice president of Advancement a plan and the implementation of a visitation cycle for alumni clubs.
- Serves and works with the Advancement staff and provides staff support as needed.
- Utilizes Alumni Finder to update and correct alumni addresses.
- Help create databases for portfolio created of 25-50 major donors, as assigned via the moves management process, and approved by the Vice president of Advancement, to secure gifts through qualification, cultivation, and face-to-face solicitation.
- Executes a variety of tasks crucial to the efficient operation of the alumni office during the absence of the director.
- Fulfills other duties as assigned by the vice president for institutional advancement.
- Assist with the structuring and development of Intercollegiate fundraising efforts, including the development of new fundraising strategies, new ways to structure gifts and new fundraising marketing materials.
- May attend functions, meetings and serve on internal/external committees as a representative of the campus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Advanced knowledge and experience identifying, cultivating, directly soliciting, and closing major gifts in a university setting.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and with external constituencies.
- Skill to meet or exceed fundraising goals and objectives.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects and quickly discern complex and competing interests.
- Understanding of tax guidelines governing charitable giving.
- Ability to work across multiple databases and CRM systems.
