Research Assistant- Reproductive Physiology
FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Research Assistant-Reproductive Physiology.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is a temporary position to assist the Reproductive Physiology Laboratory Team in semen collection, evaluation and cryopreservation from different livestock. To assist in experiments related to in vitro embryo production and breeding management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in semen collection, evaluation and cryopreservation.
- Assist in laboratory experiments related to oocyte collection, IVF and embryo culture.
- Managing the laboratory and ordering lab staff.
- Help undergraduate and graduate students in their experiments.
- Help in artificial insemination and pregnancy diagnosis in bovine and small ruminants.
- Collecting data, run statistical analysis, writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
- Presenting data findings on national and international meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in animal science with specialization in reproductive physiology
- Hand on semen collection, evaluation, and cryopreservation in different livestock
- Hand on experience on pregnancy diagnosis by ultrasound in cattle and small ruminants
- Hands-on experience in field experimentation techniques
- Knowledge of statistical analysis programs
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Travel required - traveling for training, and collaborative research (5-10%)
- Evening/night/weekend work - Monday - Friday 8 AM- 5PM
- Working outdoors - barn research pertaining to ongoing research
- Climate controlled environment
