Recruiter for CDEP
Summary:
This position is responsible for the recruitment of future students for the Cooperative Developmental Energy Program as well as performing other duties that promote the progressive advancement of CDEP. The position is contingent upon external funding.
Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinate recruitment activities, programs, and strategies for CDEP including the pre-college Mathematics, Science, and Engineering Academy
- Work with scholarship donors and other members of the university in identifying recruitment markets and students.
- Work with CDEP Director and Assistant CDEP Director in developing measurable recruiting objectives including recruiting objectives for residential housing
- Maintain recruiting database and follow up tracking system for CDEP students at FVSU and its partner universities
- Provide weekly, monthly, and other reports as requested.
- Establish positive relationships with high school students, principals, and counselors
- Assist in pre-advisement and orientation services as needed
- Provide professional, timely, and courteous assistance to internal and external publics of the university.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
- Assist in retention efforts of current students
- Assist with developing a recruitment package consisting of video presentations, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, and coordinating accurate web page brochure recruitment information
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CDEP Director and/or Assistant CDEP Director
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with at least one (1) year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Must be able to work without close supervision, work flex hours as required, and be able to travel in/out-of-state for extended periods of time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- A strong public service orientation to work well with faculty, staff, and students
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Strong computer skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
- Flexibility to travel is required including evenings, overnight, and weekends
