Photojournalist/Digital Asset Specialist
Job Summary:
This position supports the University Land Grant Mission by completing photographic assignments for use in Cooperative Extension and Agricultural Research media publications and/or Land Grant promotional materials, internal communications or for other purposes.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Use professional expertise and skills to capture professional, high-quality images; assignments will include outdoor agricultural related shots, indoor laboratory research shots in addition to candid images, portraits, buildings, etc.
- Capture the essence of agricultural related operations with minimum interruptions to normal daily operations.
- Produce photography in various methods including printed/digital media, banner promotional displays, flyers, etc.
- Perform retouching and image adjustments after shoots.
- Excellent knowledge and skills using Adobe Creative Suite and/or related software.
- Proficient in utilizing lights to enhance subjects including artificial or natural light.
- Coordinates with writers and graphic designer to ensure photographs will present a unified message matching the purpose, tone, and audience of the publication.
- Coordinates with graphic designer in managing digital assets including tagging photos and other digital assets.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Ability to work to agreed objectives and deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to a wide variety of assignments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirement:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- May be required to knee, squat, or stand for extended periods to capture images.
- Must be able to travel including overnight travel at times.
- Must be able to take photos in an outdoor environment at times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in photography or similar related field.
Previous working experience as a Photographer for 3 years or more.
