FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, is seeking candidates for the Human Resources Coordinator position in the Office of Human Resources.
Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist with coordinating Human Resources (HR) activities, such as classification, recruitment, benefits, professional development and training, records management, employee relations, and performance evaluations.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary point-of-contact for the Office of Human Resources, greeting customers, answering/referring calls, retrieving and distributing mail.
- Provides administrative support to the CHRO.
- Manages and coordinates HR communications for appropriate response and HR processing.
- Manages and maintains personnel records, filing and e-Verify process.
- Assist with coordinating and implementing HR related policies, processes and procedures.
- Coordinates and participates in the recruitment activities of student workers and staff.
- Coordinates the electronic Personnel Action Notice (PAN) process.
- Assist with coordinating employee wellness initiatives.
- Assists with the annual performance review process.
- Assists with coordinating electronic requests for classification and compensation.
- Assists with coordinating professional development and training activities.
- Provides administrative support, such as monitoring the workflow, preparing and coordinating HR documentation.
- Manage and monitor HR e-forms and email communication notification.
- Assist with providing frequent HR data reporting.
- Assists with special projects and initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Effective time management, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Effective oral and verbal communication with external and internal customers.
- Ability to multi-task and great attention to detail.
- Knowledge of office policies and procedures, basic computer operations and software.
- Knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and two year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
