FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Hospitality and Home Management Resident Supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Hospitality and Home Management Residence Supervisor is an individual responsible for overseeing the home management residence in the Department of Family & Consumer Sciences in the College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology. The individual will reside in the home management residence and work with the Course Instructor and/or Department Chair to maintain a healthy and nurturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reside in the residence and be an active role model of appropriate behaviors for students
- Provide supervision from 6:00pm - 6:00am Monday through Friday as well as supervision on the weekends
- Serve as the point of contact for student and residence matters that occur during the hours of 6:00pm - 6:00am Monday through Friday as well as on the weekends
- Enforce the program's rules and policies
- Help cultivate a safe, nurturing, structured, and comfortable environment for students
- Be an integral part of a family-style atmosphere, working with students to foster the moral, emotional, physical, and communal well-being of students
- Communicate residential issues to the Course Instructor of the Hospitality and Home Management course (i.e. FCSC 3913)
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned during the hours of 6:00pm - 6:00am on Monday through Friday as well as on weekends

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Available to work on Mondays through Fridays from 6:00pm - 6:00am as well as have some availability on weekends
- CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (may be obtained by start date)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPR, First Aid, and AED Certified
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work with college students, including traditional and nontraditional students
- Must be available to work on Mondays through Fridays from 6:00pm - 6:00am as well as have some availability on weekends
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases
PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear; lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally lift 20 pounds overhead and 40 pounds from waist to shoulder
- Specific vision abilities required include close, distant color visions, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
