Job Summary:
Fort Valley State University, a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Head Coach for the Men's and Women's Volleyball Program. The head coach is responsible for coaching, developing, directing, planning, organizing and supervising an inaugural Men's Volleyball intercollegiate program as well as leading the Women's program. Other responsibilities include instructing athletes in fundamentals of Volleyball, coaching technique and strategy, recruiting athletes, managing all aspects of the program including competition and travel as well as designing and administering programs to promote Volleyball program, policies, and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Coaching experience at the collegiate level desired.
- Experience in a program as a coach or student athlete, and knowledge of collegiate rules and regulations desired.
- Successful completion of background and driver checks in accordance with Fort Valley State University policy.
Preferred:
- Servsafe certified
- Familiarity with specified community to build respectful and effective relationships with homemakers, community stakeholders and business owners.
- Knowledge and successful experience in speaking with and teaching small and large groups.
- Creativity and innovative in educational programming for the determined community.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse clientele, community, staff, and students.
