The individual in this position will maintain a system for check in and out of all Research vehicles and farm machineries, delivering them to and picking them from repair shops using the 18-wheeler pulled trailer. Physical Requirements:
The individual must be able to load and unload vehicles and lift about 50 pounds.
Justifications:
The College of Agriculture Family Sciences and Technology (CASFT) is more than ever involved in activities outside the Fort Valley State University (FVSU) main campus. These activities involved students, faculty, and staff. These trips to transport students, faculty, and staff to regional and national meetings, for presentations, collegial team contests, field trip, and work force development, require the services of a professional driver with a CDL license to operate large-capacity occupancy vehicles. CAFST currently has one person providing maintenance, registration, and licensing and taking the Mobile Unit to functions across the country. When on travel everything else is at standing still or we must pull someone, out of normal duties, with a private CDL license to fill in. This is not sustainable. The new hire will be able to take farm machineries to and from repair shop using the 18-wheeler pulled trailer, maintain an inventory (check-in and checkout), and transport personnel to venues.
