Eligibility Coordinator
Responsibilities
The Eligibility Coordinator assist the Director of Compliance with NCAA eligibility compliance and certification of all student-athletes. Monitor academic progress reports on all student-athletes. Calculate and report team GPA to Director of Compliance and coaching staff at the end of each semester on issues related to academic eligibility and compliance. Work directly with Registrar and Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) on issues related to student-athlete eligibility, compliance and certification.
Specific Duties
- Arrange and conduct pre-season NCAA certification meetings to coordinate completion of compliance forms.
- Collaborate with Assistant AD and FAR to monitor progress-towards-degree and other NCAA, conference and university academic eligibility requirements.
- Complete required conference and NCAA compliance reports.
- Serve as liaison with NCAA Eligibility Center.
- File waivers and process release (e.g. hardship, two-year college transfer).
- Monitor playing and practice season limitations for intercollegiate sports.
- Prepare eligibility lists for all intercollegiate sports.
- Collaborate with the offices of Financial Aid, Registrar and Admissions to ensure accurate certification of initial and continuing student-athlete eligibility.
- Prepare departmental and conference academic reports.
- Produce, send and ensure receipt of transfer releases and permission to contact letters
- Serve as admissions liaison maintain communication with Admissions staff and coaches
- Coordinate pre-evaluations for incoming freshmen and transfer students
- Provide reports to coaches about application status, missing documentation, etc.
- Perform certification of academic honor awards in conjunction with the Director of Athletics

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of experience in sports administration and compliance. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities: *Knowledge of NCAA and conference regulations. *Ability to manage multiple collaborative projects and systems in a fast-paced environment. *Experience working with diverse populations. *Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently. *Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. *Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision. *Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Banner Web, People Soft and CA (Compliance Assistant) |
