FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, is seeking candidates for the Degree Program Specialist position in the Registrar's Office.
Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs degree audits for graduating candidates, and assists the Registrar regularly.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the Registrar's Office email account and distribute emails accordingly and maintains the Gated Online Learning Quiz OOLQ.
- Assist with graduation preparations and activities.
- Forward email notifications when updates have been made (change of major, schedule adjustments, name change etc.).
- Retrieve and distribute mail.
- Re-instate students for non-payment and no-show reporting.
- Assist Registrar with supervising work-study students.
- Reset BANNER PINs and Passwords.
- Responsible for records, ensure filing and/or storage of current and legacy records are properly maintained.
- Assist with managing budget expenses.
- Responsible for the maintenance/ordering of office supplies.
- Process paper transcript requests/resolve errors.
- Serves as the point of contact for customers at front desk.
- Answer and direct incoming calls to appropriate areas.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of admissions policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic computer operation and software packages, such as Microsoft Office, Banner.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree; or high school diploma or GED and four years of administrative experience; or a
combination of education and related experience.
