Associate Director of Admissions Marketing
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for organizing and directing the university's communication and marketing to prospective students.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Oversees external marketing content development for the Office of Recruitment & Admissions and Enrollment Management leadership. (25%)
- Create and manage email communication campaigns in Salesforce CRM system (20%)
- Work closely with Executive Director to develop strategic communication plan for each enrollment cycle (10%)
- Work closely with third-party vendors to create content on digital, social, and print channels. (10%)
- Ensures quality control of the social media content, newsletters, blogs, etc for Enrollment Management leadership (5%)
- Manage communication flow for all on-campus and off-campus admissions events. (5%)
- Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make recommendations for program changes and enhancements. (5%)
- Compile, assess and interpret student data, event outcomes, recruitment trends, market area trends and regularly report findings to senior leadership. (5%)
- Participate in professional development opportunities that help build knowledge of best marketing and admissions practices. (5%)
- Track the course of marketing initiatives; analyze and present results. Propose corrective actions as appropriate. (5%)
- Other duties as assigned by enrollment management leadership.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Familiarity with higher education marketing
- Understanding of CRM best practices, support, and functionality
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant student prospect information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems, prioritize time according to tasks, initiate and implement projects independently.
- Photo and video editing skills are a plus.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Executive Director of Recruitment & Admissions assigns work in terms of department goals and objectives. The supervisor reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of department activities.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include the University System of Georgia Academic and Student Affairs Handbook, the Board of Regents Policy Manual, the FVSU academic catalog, and Admissions Office policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application. This position develops department guidelines.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
- The work consists of varied duties in directing the university's admissions functions. The variety of tasks to be managed contributes to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to direct the admissions functions of Fort Valley State University. Success in this position contributes to the success of university's enrollment goals.

- Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university employees, students, applicants, parents, high school counselors, representatives of other colleges and universities, and members of the general public.
- Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to justify, defend or settle matters.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table.
- The work is typically performed in an office.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has direct/indirect supervision over the Recruiter/Admissions Counselor (2) and Regional Admissions Counselor (1).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related field required
- Demonstrated experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, social media, and/or other digital communication tools required.
- Documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
- Minimum of two years experience in corporate marketing, higher education, and/or campus involvement or leadership as an undergraduate student.
- Experience as a Target X and/ or Salesforce Administrator in a similar environment is a plus.
