Summary
Fort Valley State University is seeking dedicated applicants for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track faculty position in the new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. The program has been approved by the University System of Georgia (USG) and has initial approval from the Georgia Board of Nursing (GBON) to begin Fall 2023. The position requires face to face instruction and does not offer a virtual option. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the faculty will:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of nursing courses.
- Teach undergraduate nursing courses.
- Maintain a minimum of 10 office hours per week.
- Supervising clinical activity.
- Advising nursing students.
- Evaluating program curriculum and student outcomes.
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
- Exhibit a commitment to research and strengthening the nursing program.
- Ongoing community service and outreach.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing required. A doctoral degree in nursing preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years in academia with a proven record of exceptional teaching in nursing programs.
- An unencumbered Registered Professional Nurse License in the state of Georgia.
- Three (3) + years' experience in professional nursing practice.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a team.
- Successful completion of a background check.
