Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach

Job Summary:

The Assistant Head Football Coach/Offensive Line Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Football Coach by coaching student athletes, recruiting, monitoring student athlete academic progress, monitor practice schedules, and scholarships and overseeing the discipline, conduct, and image of the student athlete for FVSU's NCAA Division II intercollegiate football program.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit homemakers in a specified community to teach nutrition lessons - Spanish speaking population..
  • Recruit homemakers and youth for nutrition classes and to market EFNEP in specified communities
  • Travel to EFNEP counties to deliver EFNEP programs to homemakers with youth under the age of 18 living in the household.
  • Conduct nutrition education learning experiences with identified audience by utilizing identified nutrition education curricula and food demonstrations.
  • Conduct special programs and events in targeted communities and schools as deemed. 
  • Assess participants' nutritional needs using program tools and make referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Identify and implement the nutrition education plan to achieve program goals. 
  • Requires site visits to other agencies and schools.
  • Some overnight travel required.

  Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • Be able to speak fluently in Spanish.
  • Two years of work experience with related teaching skills, communication and organization skills in food and nutrition or related area.
  • Valid driver's license and use of insured automobile during work day (mileage will be reimbursed according to USG policy).

 Preferred:

  • Servsafe certified
  • Familiarity with specified community to build respectful and effective relationships with homemakers, community stakeholders and business owners.
  • Knowledge and successful experience in speaking with and teaching small and large groups.
  • Creativity and innovative in educational programming for the determined community.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse clientele, community, staff, and students.

  Working conditions:

  • Travel required within service area, conferences/trainings and campus activities.
  • Evening/night/weekend work.
  • Some overnight travel for trainings/conferences.
  • Working outdoors, occasional attendance to farmers markets, health fairs and community events.

  Physical requirements:

  • Ability to transport up to 25 pounds of food, cooking equipment and resources needed to present lessons throughout the assigned community.
  • Ability to repeat tasks of cooking, stirring, lifting pots/pans and teach lessons simultaneously.
