Adjunct Instructor - Business Administration and Economics
JOB SUMMARY:
Fort Valley State University has an immediate need for Adjunct Instructors in the Department of Business Administration and Economics with backgrounds in accounting, management, marketing, and supply chain/logistics management. These positions will focus on online course development of introductory level and advanced courses which could lead to teaching online based courses, as needed by enrollment demand. Compensation for time and effort is available for course development.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop undergraduate business courses collaboratively with FVSU instructional designers. The development process will include online and classroom content/instruction.
- Actively facilitate courses by communicating, grading, and assisting students in all aspects of learning.
- Attend departmental and/or college meetings, as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in accounting, management, marketing or supply chain/logistics management or a closely related field. Life experience will not substitute for academic qualifications.
- Previous undergraduate or graduate teaching experience.
- Possess basic skills in technology such as D2L, Canvas, Microsoft Office.
- Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to write assessments, evaluate student work, and provide constructive feedback to promote student growth.
- Dedication to producing and teaching a quality online course and have a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to adjust teaching style and strategies to meet student needs.
Preferred:
- Doctorate degree in accounting, management, marketing or supply chain/logistics management or a closely related field.
- At least five (5) years of professional experience.
- Prior online teaching experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Occasional travel to campus is required during course development with possible limited travel during semester.
- Maintain reliable internet connection for online instruction?
- Performance evaluations will be conducted regularly.
